Compare · JuJu vs Kinsta · dated 15 August 2026

They give you a container. We give you an AI site engineer.

Kinsta is a serious box. If you need that box, take it. If you need someone who builds the WordPress site and fixes it — domain paid, 10 mailboxes live — JuJu is $19.95/mo or $199/yr. One SKU.

We're not the cheapest host. We're the one that just works.

Who this is for

Someone on the site, not just a box

This page is for the person who opened Kinsta's pricing grid, saw $35, and thought they were buying a complete host.

You run one WordPress site — brochure, consultant, small shop front. You want the site built and kept working. You want object cache without an add-on SKU. You want you@yourdomain.com without opening Google Workspace. You want the .com on the same invoice.

You're not moving a Fortune-500 stack, not buying SOC 2 paperwork, and not trying to match Kinsta's container (they publish 12 CPUs and 8 GB RAM per live site). We won't pretend we're that machine. You want 60 days to settle in, not 30, and a free move. If you have time left on Kinsta, we add that time to your JuJu plan — up to 12 months, at our price. We don't write a check.

Storage (10 GB) and PHP memory (256 MB) are the same on both entry plans; Kinsta's malware removal is free. The argument here is an engineer on the site, plus domain and email — Redis price is a supporting fact.

3-year cost

An engineer, the domain, and the mail — on one bill

PathHostingRedisDomainEmail3-year total
JuJu annual$597$0$0$0$597
Kinsta, no Redis$1,050$0~$10–23/yr+$252~$1,330
Kinsta + Redis$1,050$3,600~$10–23/yr+$252~$4,930

If you never turn Redis on, Kinsta is still a $35 host with no mail, no registrar, and no engineer on the site — you assemble the rest. The $100 Redis add-on is almost three times the host; it's a supporting fact, not the reason this page exists.

Assumptions: one WordPress site, annual Kinsta at the published $350/yr — the first-month-free promo is a signup hook, not baked into the three-year total. Redis off, or on at $100/mo for all 36 months. Domain is a separate registrar bill, about $10–23/yr (a $23/yr .com nudges the no-Redis total toward ~$1,370). Email is Google Workspace Business Starter at the list $7/user/mo (one user; promos exist) = $252 over three years. JuJu $199/yr with domain, 10 mailboxes, and Redis included.

The JuJu argument

An AI site engineer. Then domain, email, and a price that's the price.

Kinsta is a serious managed WordPress platform — isolated containers, Cloudflare in front, APM, 24/7 engineers. If your site needs that box, pay for it.

What they sell on Single 20GB is a container. What they don't sell is someone who builds the WordPress site and fixes it — there's no AI site engineer on that pricing page. We put one on every site: a builder, a morning briefing, a copilot in the panel, real work on the WordPress install.

They don't register domains and they don't host mail; their docs say so plainly. You'll buy a registrar (about $10–23/yr) and Google Workspace (list $7/user/mo; promos exist) — a second and third bill, and a second and third place to get DNS wrong. We put the domain's registration and yearly renewal, plus ten mailboxes, on the same $19.95 / $199 invoice.

Redis is included here; on Kinsta it's $100 per site per month. That matters — it just isn't the first sentence. Their money-back window is 30 days after any free period; ours is 60 on the hosting fee. And don't read this as "same box, less money": 10 GB and 256 MB PHP on both entry plans, but their container is a different machine (12 CPUs and 8 GB RAM per live site). Ours is the complete small-site stack with an engineer on it.

Honest limits

Different machines. We'll say so.

10 GB NVMe, 256 MB PHP, one site, ten mailboxes. Kinsta's entry plan is also 10 GB and 256 MB — the similarity stops there. They publish 12 CPUs and 8 GB RAM per live container; we don't publish that, and we won't imply it.

This SKU is a brochure / SMB WordPress site — not a huge WooCommerce catalog, not a high-concurrency membership app, not a site that will burn 20 GB of bandwidth and then want an upgrade path through six tiers. If you need SOC 2 paperwork, SAML, or an account manager, that's their product — not this one. Running several sites? Let's talk volume.

Leaving Kinsta?

An engineer on the site — domain paid, mailboxes live, Redis on. One invoice.

60-day money-back on hosting · Cancel anytime · Free white-glove migration (typical 1–2 business days) · Leftover old-host time becomes JuJu time — up to 12 months, at our price

Hosting refund: first 60 days of the initial purchase, one guarantee refund per customer (Refund Policy). Domains already provisioned are not refunded.

FAQ

Kinsta switch, answered

Is their AI the same as yours?
No. Kinsta's pricing page doesn't sell an AI site engineer. Ours builds the site, diagnoses it, and fixes it — plus a builder, a morning briefing, and a copilot in the panel. Different product.
Do they include email or a domain?
No. Their technical FAQ states they don't offer domain registration and don't host email — they point you to Google Workspace and similar. A domain on their side is a separate registrar, about $10–23/yr.
What does Google Workspace add?
Business Starter list price was $7 per user per month on 15 August 2026 (promos exist; we used list). That's email, not hosting.
Does Kinsta really charge $100/mo for Redis?
Yes — pricing page and add-on docs, checked 15 August 2026: "$100 site / month." Per site. A supporting fact here, not the headline.
Are you as fast as Kinsta?
We won't invent a speed score. We run LiteSpeed + LSCache, free Redis, NVMe, and an edge cache; they run a larger isolated container behind Cloudflare. Different machines. Judge the site after migration — that's what the 60 days are for.
30 days vs 60 days?
Kinsta: 30-day money-back after any free period, first-time customers, with listed exclusions. JuJu: 60 days on the initial hosting fee. See our Refund Policy.
